It all started in 2006. I was on hiatus from teaching, at home raising our twins, writing a craft blog, and Etsy was brand new and full of possibilities. I began by selling my handmade goods - and lots of them - which was a great deal of fun. (Thanks bunches to all of my customers over the years!) Meanwhile, I began publishing tutorials on my blog and free-lance writing for several websites and print publications, which led to writing four books. The focus of my shop naturally shifted to “DIY” in order to satisfy the interests of my customer base while allowing me a greater work/life balance. I absolutely love encouraging the creative endeavors of others and love that entrepreneurial makers sell items they create using my patterns.
